Swirls of light move on
Clock ticks, no hesitation
Linoleum floor, clean
Flashy magazines
Stack up, wanting attention
Competing for reads
Pressed against cool surface
Windows rattle violently
Shaking me from sleep
Door never opens
It stands proud like an oak tree
